Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Philadelphia police released body camera video of two officers shooting Walter Wallace Jr. on Oct. 26. The video and audio released captures Wallace’s final moments, the 911 calls that led up to it, and the neighborhood erupting in shock and grief after seeing and hearing the shots. Police say Wallace, a 27-year-old man, ignored two officers orders to drop a knife before they opened fire on him during a house call. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw identified the two patrol officers who opened fire on Wallace as Officers Sean Matarazzo, 25, and Thomas Munz, 26. Neither had more than three years of experience in the department. Attorney for Walter Wallace Jr.’s family said that the Wallace family is not calling for the police officers who fired the fatal shots to be charged with murder. No decision has been made if charges will be filed against the officers.
