The AFL’s decision to send home two Richmond players caught fighting outside a Gold Coast strip club is being supported by Queensland’s government.

In a statement, the club said the players became intoxicated at an AFL-sanctioned event, after which they broke protocols, catching an Uber to Surfers Paradise.

Richmond was fined $100,000 for its two breaches.
