Northern Ireland could impose a “circuit-breaking” lockdown to curb a rise in COVID-19 infections.

For the second time in three days, the nation has recorded more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases.

Derry has been battling the highest infection rate in the UK, with hospital admissions doubling every nine days.
