The biggest novel coronavirus outbreak, known as COVID-19, outside of China is in Italy, where more than 400 cases have been confirmed. As Crystal Goomansingh reports, with the new coronavirus quickly spreading across borders, different countries are showing a range of responses to major outbreaks. Also, despite what the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says, U.S. President Donald Trump says he doesn’t believe COVID-19 is inevitable in that country. Jackson Proskow has more on Trump’s message, the person just named in charge of that country’s coronavirus response, and how the CDC says some of its testing kits are faulty.

Plus, Canada’s plan to handle pandemics could soon be put into action, as COVID-19 continues to spread around the globe. Mike Le Couteur looks at the preparations, and why Canada could be more prepared for a possible outbreak. Canadians have plenty of questions about the outbreak.
