An emergency department nurse working at a major Melbourne hospital is among 41 new coronavirus cases in Victoria.

Staff patients and visitors who may have had contact with the infected worker at Royal Melbourne Hospital are being contacted but it’s not known how many people are affected.

A Metro worker based at Flinders Street Station has also tested positive with 13 of their colleagues forced into quarantine.

They reportedly had no contact with passengers while infectious.

Further information is expected to be revealed by the Department of Health later today.
