Demonstrators in Rochester, N.Y. protest at city hall over Daniel Prude’s death

Over a thousand protesters gathered by the Daniel Prude memorial in Rochester, N.Y., where they marched and chanted “Black lives matter” on Sept. 5.

The demonstrators held a rally at city hall where they chanted Daniel Prude’s name and called for charging the officers involved in Prude’s death.

Prude, a Black man, died earlier this year after Rochester police placed a hood over his head and held him down.

The demonstration comes as New York’s Attorney General Letitia James on Saturday moved to form a grand jury to investigate the death of Prude.
