Biden, Trump set to face each other in 1st presidential debate

All eyes will be on United States President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden Tuesday as the two square off during the first presidential debate of 2020 on Tuesday night.

As Jackson Proskow predicts, Trump’s strategy will likely be an “all-out assault” on Joe Biden trying to drag his family and his son, Hunter Biden, and trying to paint Biden and Democrats as way too extreme to lead the country.

As for Joe Biden, it’s going to be about portraying himself as a safe, stable alternative to Donald Trump, somebody who actually has a plan for the country, for the current crises afflicting it, such as the ongoing protests against police brutality or the COVID-19 crisis, which has killed more than 200,000 Americans.

Trump, for his part, has reportedly made the decision to forego formal debate preparation.

Biden, on the other hand, has been making aggressive preparations to debate the Republican president. The Associated Press reported mock debate sessions led by senior adviser to the Democratic nominee and former White House general counsel Bob Bauer, playing the role of Trump.
