Dozens of activists demonstrated at Cherbourg port in Cherbourg-Octeville on Thursday, as a Saudi cargo ship docked at the port to allegedly collect a shipment of weapons that will be used in military action in Yemen.

The protesters slammed the French government for its involvement in the illicit arms sales and subsequently the country’s indirect role in the Yemeni conflict.

The participants including representatives of several NGOs and left-wing parties, blamed Saudi Arabia for leading “a war with no mercy against the Yemeni people perpetrating unspeakable atrocities against defenseless people.”
