U.S. Labor Secretary Alex Acosta held a press conference on Wednesday just days after billionaire was arrested on sex trafficking charges.

Acosta, a former federal prosecutor in south Florida, is being assailed for his part in a secret 2008 plea deal that let Epstein avoid federal prosecution on charges that he molested teenage girls.

He defended himself throughout, adding that there was value in a guilty plea and getting Epstein to register as a sex offender.

Acosta was asked if he would apologize to the victims for the plea agreement, but only offered an explanation as to how it played out.
