Thousands of protesters gathered outside Malta’s Courts of Justice on Sunday calling for the immediate resignation of Maltese Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, over the handling of the investigation into the murder of anti-corruption journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Screaming loudly “mafia” and “out now”, protesters threw fake money in the air, holding portraits of murdered journalist Caruana Galizia.

Calls for Muscat to step down have grown after one of Malta’s richest men, Yorgen Fenech, was charged with complicity to murder in the investigation into the car bomb killing of Caruana Galizia on Saturday.
