Boris Johnson reaffirms he will not ask EU for Brexit extension

It’s a new week, but the same old issue of Brexit is playing out in the UK parliament, with MPs due to vote again on a snap election later today. It comes after a bruising week for Prime Minister, who lost key parliamentary votes. Not only did MPs back a bill aimed at blocking a no-deal Brexit, parliament also rejected his attempt to force a snap election. The prime minister needs the support of two-thirds of MPs to hold an election early – But that hasn’t deterred Johnson from trying again today.
